We learnt the hard way so you don’t have to.
Our story
We started Thornyard the hard way, by diving into our own clothing brand in the UK automotive culture. Designing the gear was the fun part, but the rest quickly turned into a nightmare. Finding decent blanks, learning printing methods, getting sizes right, chasing turnaround times… it was constant faff. Every time we thought we had solved one problem, another one appeared.
It was a steep learning curve, and it taught us fast. We realised that half the battle was not creativity or ideas - it was the unseen grind that eats away at your time and motivation. Instead of building the brand we wanted, we spent most days firefighting and trying to keep things moving.
That is when it hit us: if we had someone to take that stress away, we would have been much further ahead. So we built Thornyard to be exactly that. Not a faceless print company, but the partner we wish we had – someone who gets it because they have been through it.
Now, nothing goes out the door unless we would wear it ourselves. Every blank we bring in is tested for fit, fabric quality, durability, and how it holds up in the wash. If it does not pass, it does not make the cut. Simple as that.

At Thornyard, we are not here to just churn out t shirts and call it a day. We create personalised clothing for all occasions - from uniforms and workwear, to merch for clubs and communities, to full collections for new and growing brands.
